Subject: Palm-O-Granite
Rating: V6
Quality: 2 stars
Location: Joshua Tree
Notes: Monzonite slopers
Yet another archetypal JTree boulder problem.
Its a blunt arete - with greasy and desperate
slopers - cruxy and insecure moves well off
the deck - finishes with some friction slab
- its sandbagged - and some of the rock can
crumble at a moments notice! First known ascent
is by Chas Wilson, who gave it the name Palm-O-Granite.
Basically grab onto the blunt arete and start
pawing and groping! About 10 moves later you'll
be staring at the cruxy moves turning onto
the slab. The problem is about 15ft. tall.
