Subject: Regeneration
Rating: V11
Quality: 3 stars
Location: Black Mountain
Notes: Sustained

Regeneration is a sit start extension to the classic arete "Gimme Some" at Black Mountain's O.K.Corral Area. Gimme Some (v8), which was the original line, was put up by Chris Sharma during the filming of the video Rampage. Dave Struthers quickly repeated this problem and set to work on the lower extension. Dave worked the problem off and on until getting the first ascent of Regeneration on Thanksgiving weekend '01. The name came from a Mexican anarchist newspaper that was published in Los Angeles in the early 1900's.

The problem starts sitting roughly in the middle of the overhanging face, at a rail/crack on a 1ft. thick flake. Pull into thin underclings and sidepulls, then move left to the arete. Finish up the steep arete Gimme Some on pinches and slopers. 12ft. tall with an uneven landing area.
