Subject: Bang-On
Rating: V12
Quality: 4 stars
Location: Black Mountain
Notes: This problem put Black Mountain on
the world map
Study: This problem was
a futuristic project for many years until
visiting Brit Ben Moon showed up and hiked
the problem, on his third try. Shortly thereafter,
Fred Nicole turned up, bagged the second ascent,
and the rest was climbing magazine history.
Bang-On is unusually steep for Black Mountain,
with huge spans between incut holds. The problem
starts on a large, incut rail, followed by
a four and a half foot sideways move to a
thinner, incut rail. From there, one more
long move to a positive edge sets one up for
a big dyno to a "glory" xeno at
the lip.

Here, Daniel Woods shows us the proper technique
for climbing Bang-On.
