Notes: This boulder rolled in straight from Toulumne Meadows!
Emerald City is an amazing piece of rock! If you have
ever climbed at Toulumne Meadows, you will instantly recognize
this grind, complete with black streaks and an airy feel.
Sugar cube sized Feldspar crystals pepper the face by
the thousands! The boulder is so peppered with knobs that
it is possible to climb just about anywhere on it and
never climb harder than a V0. First discovered by Wills
Young back in the late '90s, this photogenic problem graced
the front page of a climbing magazine article on Tram,
that Wills wrote during that same timeframe.
The problem starts on the left side of the boulder, at
elusive edges. Pull the cruxy first moves and then enjoy
the ride! The most obvious line follows a juggy flake/crack
on the upper half, but by all means feel free to wander
around on the brilliant knob-studded wall. The boulder
tops out at 25ft., however, this problem could quite be
the most relaxing highball at Tram.
