Subject: Obe Problem
Rating: V5/6
Quality: 3 stars
Location: Tram
Notes: Rad rails
This problem was make famous by the video Rampage,
in which Obe Carrion hams it up and "bags" the
FA. The problem was actually climbed years before by Rob
Mulligan and his crew. The climb went unnamed until Obe's
ascent, and his name stuck on the problem. Although the
line is almost an eliminate, it has some really cool features
to pull on, and the rock is typical Tram wonderstone.
Going straight up after the last big hold yields a V3.
Start almost sitting at the lowest rail down on the left.
Pull through a series of sidepull rails that all face
in the same direction. Continue to diagonal right as the
rails turn into thin crimps. Finish on the right side
of the boulder. The problem is about 10ft. tall and has
an annoying shelf of rock to land on (or off!), so spotters
and pads are advised.
