Subject: The Outcast aka: Don's Dyno
Rating: V5
Quality: 1 star
Location: Tram
Notes: Dyno?
Some locals may say - Why do Don's Dyno? Because
Don's Dyno is one of the seminal boulder problems
of Tram (that and I had this sweet shoot of Brandi on
it!). FA'd by Don James back in the early days of Tram,
maybe '96 or thereabouts. Don detests the name Don's
Dyno, having originally named it The Outcast,
and to this day vehemently denies any association between
him and dynoeing on the climb. The 5 star bouldering guide
calls it Peesair, not quite sure where they got
that name from though.
The problem starts as a near sit at an incut section
of incipient fracture. Make a big sideways move to a juggy
flake, work the flake rightwards to the prow of the boulder,
throw a token dyno for the lip, and mantel over.
