Subject: The Peanut
Rating: V7
Quality: 2stars
Location: Joshua Tree
Notes: Friggin' tall
First ascented by Ethan Pringle, the Peanut follows a
trail of diagonal slashes up and left, moving over an
adjacent boulder, and finishing after about 30ft. of climbing.
The climb is around 26ft. tall, with the final 10ft. having
a relatively short landing onto the large boulder below.
The real business though, comes about two thirds the way
up, as insecure crux moves half over the nearby boulder,
demanding cat-like prowess (as demonstrated by Rob) on
the pinball fall. The problem also has some grainy rock
to add to the appeal, but this could clean up if the climb
had more traffic.
