Subject: Porcelain Salamander
Rating: V8
Quality: 3 stars
Location: Tram
Notes: Sketchy
Porcelain Salamander is one of Tram's mental testpieces
- the rock is slick, the moves are committing, and the
landing area gets worse and worse as the climb progresses.
FA by Joe Morgan.
Start squatting at the base of the crack or even from
inside the cave if desired. Work the crack up and right
as it gets progressively thinner. Pull the crux moves
on thin plates on the right, then move back into the thin
crack as it curves onto the slabby wall on the right.
The problem may only be around 15ft. tall, but the ground
slopes down sharply and a boulder on the right makes for
bad fall potential. The right boulder does however make
it easy to bail out at the crux.
